Klaus Zimmermann’s career star­ted in 1993 at the Ger­man com­pany Kirch­Gruppe. For two years, he worked in Munich along­side the company’s Dir­ect­or of Pro­duc­tion and Dis­tri­bu­tion, Jan Mojto. He was suc­cess­ively in charge of mar­ket­ing, inter­na­tion­al dis­tri­bu­tion and inter­na­tion­al pro­duc­tions. In this capa­city, he par­ti­cip­ated in pro­duc­tion of anim­a­tion films, fea­ture films, tele­vi­sion series and fea­tures and inter­na­tion­al co-pro­duc­tions (Le Comte de Monte Cristo, Balzac, Les Mis­ér­ables).

In 2002, he cre­ated the com­pany Zimt Média, Par­is & Munich. The fol­low­ing year, Klaus Zim­mer­mann joined GMT Pro­duc­tions (Lagardère Act­ive) as Head of Inter­na­tion­al Devel­op­ment and worked on Les trois mous­quetaires. He was also Exec­ut­ive Pro­du­cer of French TV fea­tures Brasi­er and Salieri. In 2006, he co-foun­ded Zen Pro­duc­tions with Nath­alie Drou­aire. In this com­pany, he developed, pro­duced and co-pro­duced a num­ber of ambi­tious pro­jects: Lac­onia for ARD, BBC and Canal+, The Bible Code for ProSieben and M6, etc.

Nom­in­ated four times for the ‘Best Pro­du­cer’ award in Ger­many for Die Pat­in (2008), Vulkan (2009), Die Gren­ze (2010) and Bor­gia (2012), Klaus returned to Lagardère Enter­tain­ment from Octo­ber 2009 to Septem­ber 2013 to launch the group’s inter­na­tion­al pro­duc­tion activ­ity as Atlantique Pro­duc­tions Man­aging Dir­ect­or and Pro­du­cer. In this role he launched Bor­gia, Trans­port­er, Death in Para­dise and JO. Klaus Zim­mer­mann joined Dynam­ic Tele­vi­sion as Man­aging Part­ner in March 2014 and launched Dynam­ic Pro­duc­tions in Par­is and Ber­lin.
