Laurent Mercier

After gradu­at­ing from the European Con­ser­vat­ory of Script Writ­ing (CEEA, Par­is) in 2010, Laurent worked for three years as a freel­ance writer for French TV broad­casters (drama, soap, com­edy) while also work­ing on inde­pend­ent movies and doc­u­ment­ary pro­jects.

In 2014, he gradu­ated from the first Seri­al Eyes pro­gramme. Since then, he has worked for sev­er­al inter­na­tion­al cop­ro­duc­tions, such as The Club (Arte), Raiz­an (Tel­lux, Iris), or his own series The Gamble, before co-writ­ing the arcs and some epis­odes of the mini-series Eden (Arte, SWR). Laurent is co-writ­ing the fea­ture film Putains pro­duced by Incog­nita Films, writes for Anne Landois’s new series Angle Mort (TF1) is com­plet­ing Machines, a TV movie for France 2, and is devel­op­ing his own mini-series Pour qu’ils reposent en paix (Calt Pro­duc­tion), which has been awar­ded a grant from CNC.
