Tanja Bubbel is a TV writer and creator based in Berlin, Germany, and Brussels, Belgium. After
earning a master’s degree in philosophy, modern German literature and economics (FU Berlin
and University of Chicago), she studied screenwriting/dramaturgy at Babelsberg Film
University.
Post-graduation, she wrote, produced, and directed two award-winning short films, which
were screened at over 50 festivals. She was a participant of Berlinale Talent Campus, Racconti
Script Development Lab of IDM South Tyrol, Drehbuchwerkstatt Munich, Series Mania’s
EUREKA spring edition 2024, and the European Showrunner Programme 2024 (IFS Cologne).
As a TV writer she wrote more that forty episodes of crime procedurals, both pre-primetime
and primetime, and worked for German Netflix series “Biohackers” (Seasons 1 and 2) and
“Kitz”, among others. Alongside Rebecca Martin, she co-created and wrote the 4th season of
primetime series “Charité” (ARD),served as head writer on the international series adaptation
of “Smilla’s Sense of Snow”, and most recently adapted the Spanish hit comedy “Machos Alfa”
for Germany (Netflix).
