Tanja Bub­bel

Tanja Bub­bel is a TV writer and cre­at­or based in Ber­lin, Ger­many, and Brus­sels, Bel­gi­um. After
earn­ing a mas­ter­’s degree in philo­sophy, mod­ern Ger­man lit­er­at­ure and eco­nom­ics (FU Ber­lin
and Uni­ver­sity of Chica­go), she stud­ied screenwriting/​dramaturgy at Babels­berg Film
Uni­ver­sity.

Post-gradu­ation, she wrote, pro­duced, and dir­ec­ted two award-win­ning short films, which
were screened at over 50 fest­ivals. She was a par­ti­cipant of Ber­linale Tal­ent Cam­pus, Rac­conti
Script Devel­op­ment Lab of IDM South Tyr­ol, Dre­hbuch­werkstatt Munich, Series Mania’s
EUREKA spring edi­tion 2024, and the European Showrun­ner Pro­gramme 2024 (IFS Cologne).

As a TV writer she wrote more that forty epis­odes of crime pro­ced­ur­als, both pre-prime­time
and prime­time, and worked for Ger­man Net­flix series “Bio­hack­ers” (Sea­sons 1 and 2) and
“Kitz”, among oth­ers. Along­side Rebecca Mar­tin, she co-cre­ated and wrote the 4th sea­son of
prime­time series “Char­ité” (ARD),served as head writer on the inter­na­tion­al series adapt­a­tion
of “Smilla’s Sense of Snow”, and most recently adap­ted the Span­ish hit com­edy “Machos Alfa”
for Ger­many (Net­flix).
