Mina Mileva

Bulgaria

Mina Mileva is a filmmaker with experience in all forms of cinema and advertising from the British animation industry to festival and commercial success with fiction films she wrote and directed together with partner Vesela Kazakova. Their documentaries attracted a storm of controversy and gained them the nickname “The Demonic Duo” in Bulgaria.

Their fiction work, described as terrific comedy-drama and a feminist rallying cry got them recognised as film makers. CAT IN THE WALL premiering in Locarno and WOMEN DO CRY in Cannes’s Un Certain Regard were both part of the European Film Academy (EFA) Feature Film selection and were sold worldwide.

Mina aims to continue this socially focused work and learn more about the serial format which she would like to view as a form of cinema.
