Saar Yogev

Producer & Script-Editor

Based in Ber­lin since 2017, Saar is a pro­du­cer and script edit­or work­ing across fea­tures, drama series, and doc­u­ment­ar­ies. He is co-founder of Black Sheep Film Pro­duc­tions (Tel Aviv, 2010) and Elec­tric Sheep GmbH (Ber­lin, 2018). Titles from both com­pan­ies have premiered at fest­ivals includ­ing Cannes, Venice, Ber­linale, Toronto, Series Mania, and Busan, received over 100 inter­na­tion­al awards, and have been dis­trib­uted worldwide.

In tele­vi­sion, his cred­its include Dis­missed, a three-sea­son dram­edy that won the Israeli Tele­vi­sion Academy Award for Best Series twice in a row; Inner­most (Series Mania, Best Act­or); and Mama’s Angel (Series Mania, Inter­na­tion­al Com­pet­i­tion). His film cred­its include One Week and a Day (Cannes Crit­ics’ Week, Gan Award), Fig Tree (Toronto, Auden­tia Award), Chained (Ber­linale, Israeli Academy Award for Best Dir­ect­or and Best Act­or), and Vic­tim (Venice, Toronto, Pro­du­cers Award at Filmfest Ham­burg; Slovakia’s Academy Award entry). He also wrote and pro­duced the acclaimed doc­u­ment­ary The Return from the Oth­er Planet.

Along­side pro­du­cing, Saar works as a script edit­or and devel­op­ment con­sult­ant. He serves as a guest con­sult­ant at the Ber­linale Co-pro­duc­tion Mar­ket, Con­nect­ing Cottbus, and First Cut Lab, and as a script ment­or at devel­op­ment labs for Cent­ral Asi­an filmmakers.

He headed the Entre­pren­eur­i­al Pro­du­cers pro­gram at the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School from 2010 to 2015. Pri­or to that, he led the pro­duc­tions divi­sion of Jer­u­s­alem Cap­it­al Stu­di­os – the largest pro­duc­tion com­pany in Israel at the time-and served as Exec­ut­ive Pro­du­cer of the Jer­u­s­alem Film Festival.

Saar holds a BFA in Film & TV from Tel Aviv Uni­ver­sity (1998) and is an EAVE alumnus.
