Serial Eyes Shines at Serien Festival Basel 2025: Pitch Victory & Creative Highlights from Our Alumni

From October 29–31, 2025, the Serien Festival Basel once again celebrated storytelling, creativity, and innovation — and this year, the Serial Eyes community took center stage. We’re especially thrilled to announce that our alumnae Kriti Kapoor and Katerina Papanastasatou (both SE#12) have won the prestigious Filmschulen Pitching Prize with their project SHE IS A MONSTER — securing an impressive 10,000 CHF!

Their project captivated the jury with its originality, strong concept, and bold storytelling vision, perfectly reflecting the spirit of Serial Eyes. Winning at the Pitch Circus — one of the festival’s most anticipated and competitive events — highlights the international reach and creative strength of our alumni.

But SHE IS A MONSTER wasn’t the only Serial Eyes project making waves in Basel. Several alumni showcased their exceptional work at the festival:

  • SINGULARITIES by Adrien Mabile (SE#12) — a gripping sci-fi drama set beyond the event horizon of a black hole.
  • THE TRIDENT by Kriti Kapoor (SE#12) — an imaginative story of divine mutation, identity, and the fight over the future of human evolution.
  • SHE IS A MONSTER by Kriti Kapoor & Katerina Papanastasatou (SE#12) — the award-winning, powerful tale of transformation, rage, and unexpected alliances.

Another highlight was guest speaker Wiebke Mercier, who shared insights into storytelling, creative processes, and the evolving international series landscape. Congratulations to all our alumni — your creativity, courage, and storytelling brilliance continue to push boundaries and make the Serial Eyes family incredibly proud. We can’t wait to see where your stories go next.
