This June, at the Seriencamp Conference, a international jury of leaders in the industry selected the most exceptional and promising story from the Writers’ Vision Pitch. The award it meant to recognize bold new voices and innovative storytelling.
This year award went to our freshly Serial Eyes graduated Thuy Trang Nguyen, who pitched PAPER BOY!

Thuy developed PAPER BOY at Serial Eyes – Paper Boy is a slow-burn crime thriller set in Berlin’s Vietnamese underground. Ha, an undocumented trans man, works silently inside an illegal cannabis grow-op, trading labor for a new name. Bao, a burned-out translator and filmmaker, sees in him the story that could save her career. When they bury a body together, they become entangled — and eventually indispensable to each other. But trust comes at a cost. Violence here is banal. Loyalty is currency. And survival means knowing when to disappear. A story told from the bottom of the food chain — about what it costs to be seen.
We are thrilled to find out where PAPER BOY will head and maybe watch it on our screens soon 😉
